2 UNIT HSC DANCE

This two year course can be  accelerated over 1 or 2 years and leads to tertiary qualifications including Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management. Modules include technique, history of dance, anatomy of dance, mime, creativity, stagecraft, safe dance and musical rhythms.

Classical Ballet or Jazz

Preparation for Certificate I in Dance Performance Studies (DPS).  Students are advised to complete these levels before commencing Certificate I

Beginners, Primary, Preparatory (Classical), Level 1

Certificate I in DPS Code: 91249NSW

Pre-requisite:  There are no specific entry requirements for Certificate I.  Late starters must undertake bridging training to enter Certificate I.

Level 2, Level 3, Level 4

All students must be assessed in each level before receiving the Certificate I in DPS qualifications

(RPL is available for Level 2 & 3)

Certificate II in DPS Code: 91250NSW

Pre-requisite:  There is no pre-requisites for Certificate II in Dance Performance Studies.  Beginner students in this level may be required to undertake bridging training.

Prelude, Transition

Students must be assessed in both levels before receiving the Certifcate II in DPS qualification

(RPL is available for Prelude)

Certicate III in DPS  Code: 91251NSW

Pre-requisite: Students entering Certificate III in DPS must have Certificate II in Option 1 or equivalent.  RPL is available.

Major 1 - Includes an Open Class with an industry professional & a Career Advice Session

Certificate IV in DPS Code: 91252NSW

Pre-requisite: Students entering Certificate IV in DPS must have Certificate III in option 1 or equivalent.   RPL is available
